Title: Effect of mycorrhizal inoculants on the growth and nutrient uptake of Vitis vinifera

Abstract: Modern agricultural practices can reduce the abundance of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi that occur in the soil. This decline in AM fungal abundance has led to an emerging market of mycorrhizal inoculant products to be used for the re-inoculation of AM fungi in disturbed systems. My graduate research will investigate whether mycorrhizal inoculants can establish in live field soil and improve productivity of young Vitis vinifera compared to locally sourced AM fungal inoculants.
