Search committee for WSU Tri-Cities chancellor announced

PULLMAN, Wash. – Members of the search committee that will lead a national search for the next chancellor of WSU Tri-Cities were announced today by Washington State University President Kirk Schulz.

“We’re seeking a visionary and innovative leader who can advance the opportunities we have at WSU Tri-Cities,” Schulz said. “Among our priorities are expanding the STEM disciplines and growing our research in bioproducts and sustainable energy and wine science.”

Carl Adrian, president and CEO, Tri-City Development Council, and Paul Pitre, chancellor of WSU North Puget Sound at Everett, will co-chair the 19-member search committee. The other members of the committee are:

  • Israa Alshaikhli, president of associated students, WSU Tri-Cities
  • Steve Ashby, director, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
  • Vicki Gordon, owner, Gordon Estate Winery
  • Lindsay Lightner, coordinator, alternate route teacher certification, College of Education, WSUTC
  • Allan Felsot, professor of entomology and environmental toxicology, and interim academic director of arts and sciences, WSUTC
  • Casey Fox, director of development, advancement and regional development, WSUTC
  • Akram Hossain, vice chancellor of research, graduate studies and external programs, and professor, Civil Engineering, WSUTC
  • Joseph Iannelli, founding executive director, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, WSUTC, and associate dean of international programs, Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture, WSU Pullman
  • John Mancinelli, chief of staff and operations, Office of the Chancellor, WSUTC
  • Allison L. Matthews, clinical assistant professor, psychology, WSUTC
  • Peggy McCullough, senior vice president, project director of the waste treatment plant, Bechtel National
  • Chris Meiers, vice chancellor, enrollment management and student services/campus CIO, WSUTC
  • Mel Netzhammer, chancellor, WSU Vancouver
  • Donna Paul, associate professor of finance, WSUTC
  • Sasi Pillay, vice president of information technology services and chief information officer, WSU Pullman
  • Lane Savitch, chief operating officer of the southeast Washington service area, Providence Health and Services
  • Sarah Tragesser, associate professor, psychology, and chair of the WSUTC Resident Faculty Organization

The national executive search firm of Isaacson, Miller, will assist the search committee.

Current WSU Tri-Cities Chancellor Keith Moo-Young will remain in the campus leadership post until his successor is in place, likely in early 2018.

WSU Tri-Cities enrolls about 1,800 students, more than 70 percent of whom study STEM-related academic disciplines. The campus offers 20 undergraduate and 33 graduate degrees. The student body is the most diverse among the University’s five campuses.
