Preparing students for higher education

The Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a Department of Education federal program that has been granted to and administered by WSU Tri-Cities. GEAR UP offers direct services to educational institutions and community partnerships. The program aims to increase the number of students from high-poverty middle and high schools who are well-prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Increase academic performance and preparation for postsecondary education.

Increase high school graduation and postsecondary participation rates.

Increase students’ and their families’ knowledge of postsecondary options, preparation, and finances.

GEAR UP program partnerships are located all over Washington State.
