Provost search group seeks campus community input

The provost and executive vice president search committee is seeking input from the campus community at a feedback session at 12:10–1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, in CUE 518 in Pullman and via videoconference at the regional campuses (at WSU Tri-Cities, the session is in West Building, Room 260).

Feedback also is welcome through the search website at provostsearch.wsu.edu.

Applications and nominations will be accepted through April 15. To make a nomination, submit candidate’s name, position, and contact information to the search firm engaged to recruit candidates and support the search, R. William Funk and Associates, via email to krisha.creal@rwilliamfunk.com.

The search committee for the Washington State University provost and executive vice president wants to know:
• The major challenges and opportunities the provost will inherit.
• The kind of person best equipped to address the challenges and make the most of the opportunities; for example, experience, leadership style, worldview, personality, etc.
• Compelling reasons a top national candidate, who hasn’t considered this position or WSU, might want to explore this opportunity.

The search firm has been building a list of top national candidates. William Funk visited WSU on Monday and Tuesday to gather feedback with the search committee and WSU leaders. Feedback from the Thursday session will be incorporated into the position document.
