ProTeach info meeting, 10 a.m., West 240

August 7, 2014 @ 10:00 AM

Teachers can learn how to earn their professional certification at two upcoming information meetings at Washington State University Tri-Cities.

The ProTeach information sessions are at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 7, and at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 13. Each session is in the West Building, Room 240, on the WSU Tri-Cities campus, 2710 Crimson Way, Richland. No RSVP is needed.

Representatives from WSU’s College of Education, Gonzaga University and Heritage University will share details about how they support and encourage teachers as they work on this second-tier certificate certification.

Individuals who hold a Washington residency certificate and have taught for a minimum of two years and have accumulated at least 1.5 FTE could be eligible to begin working on their professional certifications, said Maria Moscatelli, Director of Field Services for the College of Education program at WSU Tri-Cities. More details are at tricity.wsu.edu/education/procert.

For those who qualify, 150 clock hours will be awarded by the state upon successful completion of the ProTeach Portfolio. To verify eligibility, visit www.proteach.org.
