LGBT Panel

Washington State University Tri-Cities will welcome several representatives and advocates of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community to participate in a panel discussion on LGBT issues from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Nov. 6 in the West Atrium on campus.

 

The panel will feature five speakers who affiliate with or advocate for the LGBT community:

  • Anna Southern is a biologist and anthropologist who affiliates with the LGBT community as a transgender woman.
  • Jefferson Coulter is the senior attorney with the Pasco office of the Northwest Justin Project. He is also on the board of directors for the QLaw Foundation, which seeks to educate the public and courts about LGBT legal issues.
  • Cat Wesley is a history teacher who affiliates with the LGBT community as a lesbian woman. She is an active member with Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG).
  • Reverend Keri Lobdell is president of the local PFLAG chapter and has been a straight ally for more than six years. A member of the Progressive Christian Alliance, she currently serves as a retention counselor and advisor for TRiO Student Support Services at WSU Tri-Cities.

The panel is presented in conjunction with the Anthropology 395 course “Contemporary Human Issues,” which is taught by Mansperger.
