Abstract: Interested in public policy? Wondered if your voice had any influence? Want to do more than just vote? Ever been interested in running for political office? Learn how engineers can influence public policies, rules, and laws without being a politician or staging a massive protest. Jocelyne Gray, PE, President-Elect of Washington Society of Professional Engineers will share her experiences with influencing public policy and provide ways you can get involved at the local, state, and federal levels.
Biography: Jocelyne is a graduate from WSU with a B.S. in Civil Engineering. As Director of Operations – Water at the Mason County PUD No.1 she is a water expert, providing clean, safe drinking water to several communities. She was selected as one of the 2012 Top Female Executives by Worldwide Who’s Who for her leadership in public utilities. Her operations department received the 2011 Grace Under Pressure award from the State Office of Drinking Water for professionally handling the E. coli contamination of two water systems in 2010 after the area received 200% of its normal monthly rainfall.
Jocelyne is currently the President-elect of the Washington Society of Professional Engineers. She has also been very active in the Society of Women Engineers since 1996, encouraging young females to enter the profession.
