GEAR UP 8th Grade Career Showcase, 4:30 p.m., East Building

More than 20 eighth-graders from throughout the region will compete at the Career Showcase competition hosted by GEAR UP.

The students choose a future career that peaks their interest, does research, then delivers a presentation that is judged.

It’s a by-invitation event that goes as follows:

4 – 4:30 pm – Check-in
4:30 – 5 pm – Welcome & Dinner (East Commons)
5:10 – 5:30 – Program Intro (East Auditorium)
5:30 – 7:00 – Presentations
7:00 – 7:15 – Dessert Break
7:15 – 8:45 – Presentations
9:00 pm – Announcement of Winners
