Abstract: Software is a powerful tool for building trust with clients and stakeholders, as it provides a platform for delivering expert information via services such as interactive reports, sandboxed models, and content management.  Recent advances in tools and frameworks, and the increased availability of distributed computing and mobile devices has lowered the cost of delivering custom solutions to technical problems.   In this talk, I will provide an overview of some of the major technologies commonly used in the industry and will share lessons learned developing applications for both public- and private-sector clients.
