Campus Lecture: The Internet of Things: a Security and Privacy Perspective

November 6, 2018 @ 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Billions of internet-connected devices autonomously controlling your home and environment: what could possibly go wrong? This talk will introduce the Internet of Things (IoT) and cover some of the security and privacy risks it exposes people to every day. From television sets that spy on you to remotely hacked vehicles, IoT security and privacy issues affect everyone in our connected society.

Come hear about the issues society faces, the way forward for solutions from research and legislation, and what you can do to protect yourself and your family from runaway security and privacy risks.
