GEAR UP: Training for serving undocumented students, 3 p.m., CIC

The GEAR UP early outreach program presents a training workshop about serving undocumented students from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, in the Consolidated Information Center, 2770 Crimson Way, Richland.

The training will address the status of undocumented immigrant students enrolled at Washington State higher education institutions by engaging the faculty and staff to become informed about the status of undocumented students and by sharing best student success practices and other resources.

A secondary outcome is to create a model that can be used in other venues, particularly by other professionals that also need to learn about undocumented students, the laws that impinge upon student lives, and policies and practices that can contribute to their academic success.
