The pre-licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program prepares you for a lifelong career in nursing practice. The BSN program prepares you with a blend of course work, skills practice, simulation, and clinical experience.
Before applying to the WSU Tri-Cities nursing program, students must have a junior standing and have completed nursing prerequisites and general university requirements (UCORE). Students applying to WSU Tri-Cities as freshmen should complete the general WSU Tri-Cities admissions application and once admitted, will complete their prerequisite requirements their first two years at WSU Tri-Cities before applying to the WSU Tri-Cities nursing program.

Through biology labs at WSU Tri-Cities, students have the opportunity to not only read about the foundations of science, but be an active participant in experiments and other hands-on projects.
Faculty in the field
Biology assistant professor Tanya Cheeke performs research that examines plant-soil-microbe interactions in a variety of ecosystems, ranging from grasslands, to forests, to agricultural systems.
A team at WSU Tri-Cities is studying how to transplant fungi to restore native plant populations in the Midwest and Northwest. The results will be used to inform ecological restoration efforts.

You will take courses that cover a wide range of subjects in nursing, which could include:
Pathophysiology and pharmacology in nursing
Nursing practice: health and illness
Human experience of diversity and health
Nursing practice in acute and chronic illness in adults
Ethical reasoning and decision –making processes in nursing
Critical thinking and nursing skills are developed in the practice lab working with preceptors in a safe, controlled environment. Simulation – either using high-fidelity manikins or staged with real people – allows you to apply the skills and nursing theories while working on communication, teamwork, and making sound clinical decisions.
Career outcomes in nursing In addition to countless hours in the practice and simulation lab, you will log more than 950 hours in clinical settings outside the college preparing you for successful nursing practice.
