WSU Tri-Cities is proud to partner with Million Women Mentors to support the engagement of one million Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) mentors to increase the interest and confidence of girls and women to persist and succeed in STEM programs and careers.

Meet Dr. Noel Schulz

Dr. Noel Schulz is a Professor in the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, in the Voiland College of Engineering and Architecture at WSU Pullman. She is actively involved in recruiting and retaining women in engineering, supporting faculty development, and encouraging international experiences in education. She has developed faculty networks for women at two universities and advanced faculty development activities especially for nontenured faculty. Dr. Shulz met with students and mentors at the MWM Power Breakfast on Oct. 28.

Mission

Million Women Mentors supports the engagement of one million Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) mentors (male and female) to increase the interest and confidence of girls and women to persist and succeed in STEM programs and careers. MWM is an initiative of STEMconnector in collaboration with over 60+ partners reaching over 30 million girls and women, 45+ corporate sponsors, and 35+ state leadership teams.

Goals

Through the engagement of one million mentors, our goals are to:

  1. Increase the percentage of high school girls planning to pursue STEM careers.
  2. Increase the percentage of young women pursuing undergraduate degrees in STEM fields.
  3. Increase the percentage of women staying and advancing in STEM careers through supporting workforce mentoring programs.
