This is the registration page for Commencement 2017 Crew Opportunities. The commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Toyota Center. All crew members are required to attend a training session and be at the event on Saturday by 11:00am (box lunch provided).

Please complete the required fields and choose your desired role. When you submit your request, you will receive a confirmation. Commencement training for the ceremony will be held on Tuesday, ????????????

NO PREFERENCE - 8 NEEDED
I am available and have no job preference. Please assign me where I'm needed most.

FACULTY STAFF LINEUP - 1 NEEDED [now closed]
Crew provides assistance to the faculty in the robing area upstairs in the Charter HD Lounge. Ensure faculty begin robing at approximately 12:45p.m. and are ready to be released by a designated “runner” to the lower arena area to lead the procession which begins promptly at 1pm. There is no lineup order for faculty but they will need to be lined up in two rows.

PLATFORM PARTY LINEUP - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew provides assistance to the Platform Party in the robing area upstairs in the Charter HD Lounge. Ensures platform party members begin robing at 1pm and area are standing in their correct seating order for entrance to the stage. It is recommended to form two rows and tape their names to the floor and ask the platform party to stand on their names. Ensure platform party is ready to be released by their designated “runner” at approximately ~1:10p.m. Note: They are the last to enter the procession, so please watch for the last group of students scheduled to enter, before releasing them to the downstairs area, as that area is very congested if released too soon.

FACULTY AND PLATFORM PARTY RUNNERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Runner will ensure to escort faculty and platform party down stairs for the procession when appropriate. Directions will be provided to runner for schedule and times.

GREETERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Greet and provide programs to family and friends on the second floor, main entrance to the Toyota Center and direct students, faculty and family through the appropriate entrance. ADA seating is available on the second floor for approximately 6 people with disabilities and their one guest. Additional seating is available on the graduation floor in the very back. Again, this allows for one person with disability and one guest. (Families should not be accompanying the person with disability to the floor, they must sit in the stands). A crew member will be in the designated ADA seating for assistance.

USHERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Hand out programs as needed, direct guests to proper seating areas; assist in maintaining proper decorum such as no standing in aisles, or stairways, no balloons in the arena, no blocking of the aisles or stairways, etc.

BANNER CARRIER PACERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew hands off the college banner to each designated gonfalon carrier as undergraduates begin their procession. They also provide any last minute directions for entering the stage area. A practice run will be scheduled prior to commencement with crew members and banner carriers.

UNDERGRADUATE LINEUP - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew will assist the lead with check-in and run through graduate preparedness: reader card, regalia, honors cord, mortar board and tassel, pins, etc. Assist in the line up of students; direct students to line up in order according to department under the signed posted in hallways; continue to monitor students during line-up to make sure they have reader cards filled out, and regalia is worn properly.

GRADUATE LINEUP - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew will assist the lead with check-in and run through graduate preparedness: reader card, regalia, honors cord, mortar board and tassel, pins, etc. Assist in the line up of students; direct students to line up in order according to department under the signed posted in hallways; continue to monitor students during line-up to make sure they have reader cards filled out, and regalia is worn properly.

PACERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew members stand at the graduate floor entrance and pace faculty, students, and the platform party. This role allows for systematic entry onto the graduation floor and avoids a “bunch up” or confusion on the graduation floor.

Note: Wait approx. 10 feet onto the concrete floor before sending the next student. Remind students to take their time, no rush. This will allow for family and friends to identify their student and allows for row monitors to count the graduates as they enter the carpeted area.

The very first group to lead the procession that consists of the Faculty Senate Representative (mace carrier) and ASWSU President and Valedictorian walk closer together in a triangular formation rather than staggered.

RESERVED SEATING - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew members will mark, monitor, and escort those in reserved seating areas. This is for WSU employees and special guests only. A “runner” will be available at the entrance of the Toyota Center for escorting.

RUNNERS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]

ROW MONITORS - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew runs through the Row Monitor responsibilities, and serve as security to the graduation floor and assist in releasing students and keeping a consistent flow during commencement. Friends and family should not be walking on the graduation floor. (The only exception to this rule is people with disability sitting in the seats lining the back of the graduation floor.) *practice run before commencement will be available as well as a quick run through the day of.

LICENSE PLATE DISTRIBUTION - ?? NEEDED [now closed]
Crew members provide license plate holders for graduates who have returned their regalia.
