DESCRIPTION:Certification Seminars are workshops in which you will meet with academic advisors and faculty mentors to review your progress toward major certification\, insight into course sequencing\, how to apply your classroom work to real-world problem solving\, and academic exploration. DESCRIPTION:Academic Advisors partner with the Counseling Services to host workshops to support all students at WSU Tri-Cities. \nTime management workshops are designed to give students tools and strategies to effectively manage their various commitments. Topics discussed include: conceptualizing time\, prioritizing tasks\, setting goals and boundaries\, and managing commitments. The workshop will include group activities and discussion\, led by Aphrodite Beidler\, a licensed mental health counselor in Washington State. \nRegistration is not required.

DESCRIPTION:The Junior Writing Portfolio is a mid-career diagnostic to determine if students’ writing abilities have advanced in ways that can handle the writing demands of upper-division courses and courses in their major. \nSuccessful completion of the Junior Writing Portfolio during the junior year is a requirement for graduation. To meet the requirement\, students must take a timed essay exam and submit a packet of three graded papers. \nRegistration is required for the timed essay exam.
