SUMMARY:Career Development Workshop:  Business Dining Etiquette
DESCRIPTION:This Career Development workshop focuses on business dining etiquette.    Some of the most important interviews and meetings take place over a meal at a restaurant with linen table clothes\, several forks and spoons\, and small butter pats molded into shapes.  Do you know what to do?  Table manners matter and play an important part in making a favorable impression and essential to professional success. \nStudents will learn etiquette skills to use before\, during\, and after a business meal (i.e.\, ordering\, use of silverware\, making sense of the table setting\, etc.). \nThis is a required workshop for students planning to attend the Career Development Center’s Professional Etiquette and Networking Dinner. \nAll workshops are FREE.  No RSVP needed. \nPizza available during the workshop.

SUMMARY:Movie Screening: White Like Me: Race\, Racism\, and White Privilege in America
DESCRIPTION:Please join the COE Diversity Committee in a cross campus viewing and critical discussion of the film White Like Me: Race\, Racism\, and White Privilege in America. The film is narrated by and features Tim Wise\, acclaimed antiracist educator and author\, and discusses many critical issues pertinent for us as a College. Following the viewing of the film\, we will engage in a short discussion on each campus which connects key themes and ideas from the film and Angela Davis’ presentation to the work that we do here in the College of Education. We will then join together as a college for some final thoughts and discussion across all campuses. This event is especially helpful for students in teacher education\, sports studies\, educational and counseling psychology\, and educational leadership. Please post the attached flyer and share with your classes. Please encourage your classes and colleagues to attend on Wednesday February 4th from 4-6 pm. If you are offering students credit for their attendance\, we will have sign in sheets in each of the rooms that we will later copy for faculty. This is the first of what we hope will be a continued dialogue within the College about ways that we can all become more culturally aware\, responsive\, and active in the lives and education of the diverse communities that we serve.
