Next Steps for Admitted Freshmen

Freshmen Next Steps

Welcome, future Cougs! You are among a special group of students who make up the WSU Tri-Cities community. We’re glad you’ve joined us. Now what?

You must confirm your enrollment to reserve your space at WSU Tri-Cities by paying a nonrefundable $200 tuition deposit. This also allows you to sign up for New Student Experience Events.

*Ready to confirm your admission, but finances holding you back? We can help! Contact the Admissions Office for assistance.

All new students are required to attend a Majors and Academic Advising Session (MAPS) and New Student Orientation for advising and your social acclimation to WSU Tri-Cities.

All incoming freshmen are asked to take two placement exams before they register for classes. Our goal is to make sure your students are successful in the courses they take at WSUS and having an accurate idea of student’s abilities help us do so. Freshmen entering WSU with transferable credit from another college, Running Start, AP Math, or IB courses may be exempt from one or both placement exams. Contact the Office of Admissions about your eligibilty.

4. Send final transcripts, exams and other paperwork

Send final transcripts from the high school you attended and/or currently attend. Receive college credit by sending official final college transcripts and AP/IB/AICE scores.

Sign into myWSU (WSU’s student information system) and review your personal to-do lists for financial aid.
