Also, you are encouraged to check this website again on the day you plan to take the exam to ensure exam proctoring services are available.

APPOINTMENTS ARE NOT REQUIRED OR SCHEDULED EXCEPT FOR URGENT NEEDS PROCTORING.

URGENT NEEDS PROCTORING

Proctoring outside of the normal schedule will be considered on a case by case basis for extenuating circumstances. Send a written request two (2) days in advance to the exam proctor explaining your situation.

PROCTORING FEE

The fee for proctoring exams is $15 per exam and applies to WSU Online and non-WSU students only. It DOES NOT apply to WSU Tri-Cities on-campus students and students registered with the office of Disability Services. The nonrefundable fee must be paid prior to taking the exam. Payment is made at the Cashier’s office, Monday through Friday, East Building, Room 254 (between the Auditorium and the Commons). If you plan to take your exam on Saturday, please note that the Cashier’s office is not open on Saturdays and the Proctoring Center does not accept payment. Proof of payment must be provided on the date of the exam. Multiple exams can be paid for at the same time but please request a separate receipt for each exam. Please note that the Cashier’s office and the Proctoring Center hours are not the same. ALL STUDENTS

All students should come prepared to provide photo ID. Personal items (i.e., purses, backpacks, hats, cell phones, notebooks, and electronic devices) are not allowed in the testing area unless otherwise specified in your exam. Once the exam is started, you will not be able to leave the testing area for any reason. Please take care of personal needs prior to starting the exam. Leaving the testing area during the exam will result in a completed exam.

Plan your arrival to allow enough time to check-in, complete the exam, and check-out before closing time. Proctoring hours cannot be extended for completion of an exam. Add an extra 15 minutes to your time if the completed exam has to be scanned to your school. Failure to do so may delay exam submittal until the following business day or week.

WSU TRI-CITIES ON-CAMPUS STUDENTS AND INSTRUCTORS

Exam proctoring for WSU Tri-Cities on-campus students will be done on an exception basis for extenuating circumstances and applies to students who were unable or will be unavailable to take an exam during class time. Proctoring for on-campus students must be pre-approved. This requirement does not apply to students registered with the office of Disability Services.

STUDENTS: Proctoring your exam requires pre-approval and must be requested in writing by your instructor. The exam must be taken and completed during the scheduled proctoring hours. Proctoring hours cannot be extended to allow for exam completion. To view the schedule, please refer to 2016 exam proctoring calendar. You may want to contact the exam proctor in advance to confirm the exam and pre-approval have been received.

INSTRUCTORS: Proctoring your student’s exam must be pre-approved. Please submit a written request to the exam proctor twenty four (24) hours in advance of the exam due date explaining the need for proctoring services. Pre-approval is not required for students registered with the office of Disability Services. Once approved, complete the proctor request form for WSU Tri-Cities instructors and forward to the exam proctor along with the exam. DISABILITY SERVICES STUDENTS

The exam proctoring fee does not apply to students registered with the office of Disability Services. Any questions regarding the services provided by the office of Disability Services should be addressed with the Disability Services Coordinator, Cherish Tijerina Pearson, at ctijerina@tricity.wsu.edu or call 509-372-7352 or 1-800-833-6388. All other questions regarding proctoring processes, requirements, and proctor availability should be addressed with the exam proctor.

WSU ONLINE STUDENTS

WSU Global Campus proctored exams are either paper-based or online and are administered in Blackboard Learn. Your course syllabus will explain what options of proctoring are available to you for each individual course. Confirm in the course syllabus the type of exam, time limit, and any special requirements for each individual course. You can request all your exams early in the semester.

You are responsible for paying the exam fee in advance and providing the receipt to the Proctoring Center. It will not be charged to your student account. Multiple exams can be requested and paid for at the same time but please request a separate receipt for each exam.

You must submit a separate request for each exam you need proctored. During this process, you will be asked to complete a proctor nomination form. Please do not confuse this form with the proctor request form for WSU Tri-Cities instructors which is located in the WSU Tri-Cities exam proctoring webpage.

To request a proctored exam, please follow the instructions below.

• Log in to www.tricity.wsu.edu and then click on myWSU.
• Locate your Proctored Exams pagelet in the middle column in myWSU home page. Your proctored exams are listed here.
• To see this pagelet you may need to select Online Student located next to Main Menu at the top.
• Choose the link for the exam you need proctored.
• You will be directed to Scheduling Proctored Exams page.
• Select Propose a New Proctor if you have not previously used the WSU Tri-Cities location and then follow the instructions for completing the proctor nomination form. For the required proctor information, click on the proctoring FAQs link listed above and go to question #5.
• Select Request Previous Proctor if you previously used the WSU Tri-Cities location.
• Provide the exam date and delivery option.
• Click on Submit Proctor to WSU Online.

Check in the Proctored Exams pagelet for the status of your request. It will indicate the date the exam was received and when it was sent to the proctor. To find out if the Proctoring Center has received it, you will need to contact the exam proctor.

Please allow two (2) weeks for requested exams to be processed and delivered to the Proctoring Center.

You do not need to make an appointment to take an exam. Simply come in during the scheduled proctoring hours as indicated on the 2016 exam proctoring calendar.

If the exam hard copy is to be mailed to your school, you will need to bring a stamped, 9×12 addressed envelope.
