Guidance and Support
You are required to meet with your academic advisor a minimum of one time each semester about your academic planning. This regular meeting ensures that you are making timely progress toward graduation. Depending on the level of help that you need, an academic advising session can last as few as ten minutes or up to an hour or more.
Each semester, you will be assigned a priority registration date based on the number of credits you have earned. You will see the date in your myWSU student center but there are several benefits to meeting with an advisor early.
If you meet before registration begins, you will have more time to work adjust your schedule and resolve any issues such as a Junior Writing Portfolio hold or deciding on which minor will best complement your major.
You can choose from three session options to meet the advising requirement.
